Britain Through the Decades - Life in the 1930s

Life in the 1930s is the first of a new six-part series reflecting life in Britain in decades past. The programme includes the 'co-operative' movement, development of the family car and air travel, celebrations of HM George VI's coronation in 1937 and preparations in response to the threat of war.

The emphasis is not major public events that made cinema newsreels, but an informative look-back to everyday life in a bygone era very different from today. High quality archive footage in black & white and colour has been sourced from public archives and private collections to compile the series.

This programme covers 1930-39. Life in the 1940s is in production and will be available along with other titles in the series in due course.

Life in the 1930s: Duration approximately 57 minutes. Price:аг12.95. Available on DVD in both PAL & NTSC formats from the On Line Shop.
