Britain Through the Decades - Life in the 1930sLife in the 1930s is the first of a new six-part series reflecting life in Britain in decades past. The programme includes the 'co-operative' movement, development of the family car and air travel, celebrations of HM George VI's coronation in 1937 and preparations in response to the threat of war.
| The emphasis is not major public events that made cinema newsreels, but an informative look-back to everyday life in a bygone era very different from today. High quality archive footage in black & white and colour has been sourced from public archives and private collections to compile the series. This programme covers 1930-39.
